I want it to be summer. I hate the snow, I hatethe slush, I hate the cold, I hate accidentally stepping into 2 ft. of ice-cold water, I hate being so bundled up I feel like the michelin man. However, there are still at least three months to go before it starts getting consistently warm out. So to prevent myself from going insane and tearing out all my hair, here's a list of things I like about winter:

1. Certain foods just taste better like stews, sweet potatoes, and tea.
2. When snowflakes get caught in your hair and eyelashes
3. Snowdays
4. Christmas lights in the city
5. Watching snow fall
6. Being curled up under 6 blankets with a cat just isn't the same in the summer
7. Fireplaces
8. Complaining about the weather
9. The city doesn't smell as bad as in the summer
10. The feeling when your fingers finally start thawing

It wasn't that cold this morning so I thought it would be a good idea to go to the Cloisters. It was freezing. I started running around a bit to warm up and ended faceplanting in the snow. At least my camera didn't suffer any damage.

So I finished the first week of the new semester. Sheer madness! Not only did I have difficulty finding my classes, I had to meet with my guidance counsellor 3 times to set them right. I'm finally back in the painting class I had last semester. I was shocked how lost I was without Andrea. She's the only teacher who's been encouraging me to keep my painting separate from everything else whereas the other two painting teachers were trying to get me to integrate my other interests. I am trying to do this in other mediums but I want to keep painting as a space where I don't need to plan ahead for anything and let myself truly explore and be surprised.

I wish I had more time in school to figure everything out. I have to take things one step at a time and hopefully this semester give me more experience and more confidence.

Sarah and I have been spending a lot of time together. She and I spent 5 hours drawing/scrap-booking like old ladies. I drew some cards to send to friends:
Natalie and Marilyn Manson having a tea party

Daisy hanging out with Rupert Grint (it was only after I finished that I realized Daisy's eye is sliding off her face D:)

Leah hanging out with the Harry Potter characters

Peter and I taking over St. Andrews with sheep

I would post Bekka's but I know she's read my blog before and I want to keep it a surprise ;)
